Jewel is an exquisite, rich black and white bitch who has made a wonderful addition to our kennel. We were in awe watching her gorgeous mother, Ch. MajikSun's Bet on Black (Roulette) win Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best Bred by Exhibitor at the Akita Nationals in 2005. We were thrilled when Alicia Meyer agreed to let us add Roulette's daughter, Jewel, to our kennel in 2006.
Jewel loves to show, but can be a handful for our handler, Ryan Buzard, who never knows what Jewel will do next to have fun in the ring. Her enthusiasm for showing is a sight to see. For example, at the Tucson show in the Spring of 2007, a black bird landed in the ring as Jewel was doing her go around. In a flash, she pounced on the bird with all fours. The crowd and the judge got a good laugh out of it. Her antics in the ring are a challenge for Ryan, but she loves showing Jewel because of her vivacious personality and striking, rich black color accented with bright white markings which have made her a crowd and judge favorite.
She just turned 12 months this year on April 1st (yes, April Fool's Day). Watch for her to electrify the rings in the Fall and Winter shows.
